Their giant tails enormous size and strength armed with stout bills designed to bash their prey to death make marlins just incredible to witness. Through the history of Sportfishing the marlin has been considered one of the most challenging fish to subdue due to their incredibly violent 100 yeard or more runs, aerial displays and downright mind-bending speed and strength. Marlin species: Blue Marlin, Stripe Marlin, Shortnose Spearfish. Occasionally: Black Marlin, Sailfish

Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna)

In Hawaiian Ahi means fire. The yellowfin tuna and the bigeye tuna are incredible fighters and considered one of the strongest Fish in the Sea. Their build is impressive and perfectly engineered hydrodynamic fish looking like some sort of hydrogen bomb with beautiful long golden sickles sometimes reaching all the way to their tails. Local custom calls any fish over 100lbs an Ahi while anything under 100lbs is called Koshibi. They are caught year round, the tuna and porpoise feed together regularly. Most fish caught in the porpoise schools usually weigh a minimum of 100lbs. Ahi usually comes in runs with the best months typically being Mar. through Oct.

Mahi Mahi

“A fish so nice they named it twice.” One of the most predominant gamefish of the Pacific ocean and around the world. The Mahi Mahi is a voracious eater and a beautiful acrobat with iridescent blue, green and yellow. They are one of the fastest growing gamefish in the world reaching over 100 lbs. The male of the species is called a Bull and the female a cow.

Ono (Wahoo)

The Cheetah of the sea. Built like a torpedo, the Ono is one of the fastest fish in the world. Armed with the most dangerous mouth in the business for both their prey and your tackle or bait. The wahoo mouth is considered the “business end of the ono because of the ono slices anything in its path clean in half at speed of up to 50mph. Ono in Hawaiian means “delicious” and they can average in size anywhere from 20-30 lbs but on rare occasion can exceed 100 lbs.
